The Art Of Marriage seminar

Gages Lake Bible Church is excited to host a one-of-a-kind conference for married couples on May 18-19th.

Cost: $40 per couple (childcare, materials, and Saturday lunch provided)

The Art of Marriage® is a new one-and-a-half day video event designed for church and community settings. The Art of Marriage consists of six video sessions and an accompanying manual that provides couples with projects to help apply the principles taught during each session. The Art of Marriage brings together some of the most respected and influential pastors and experts on marriage and family all in one setting. It also brings a fresh approach to a video event by weaving together some of the following elements to help couples fully experience God’s design for marriage:  

  • engaging stories
  • real-life testimonies
  • man-on-the-street interviews
  • humorous vignettes

Join us as Dr. Bob Moeller leads four sessions that will improve and enrich your marriage. Dr. Bob Moeller is the author of For Better, For Worse, For Keeps and The Marriage Miracle. He can be heard regularly on Moody Radio. He and his wife, Cheryl, have encouraged and discipled couples across the country.

Bowling with Capernaum Young Life

Young Life Capernaum gives young people with mental and physical disabilities the chance to experience fun and adventure, to develop fulfilling friendships and to challenge their limits while building self-esteem through club, camp and other exciting activities. Young Life staff and volunteers model Christ's unconditional love and acceptance as they walk alongside these young adults - filling their lives with love and support.

What: Bowling at Brunswick Zone in Vernon Hills (316 Center Drive) with Capernaum Young Life

When: Friday, May 25

Who: Students with special needs, ages 14-22, and anyone who is interested in learning more about the Young Life Capernaum program.

Time: 6:30-7:30 p.m. (Note: Parents can learn more about Capernaum at a short informational meeting from 7:15-7:30 p.m. while your son or daughter finishes up bowling.)

Cost: $5 to bowl; bring extra $$ if you'd like to purchase a snack at the snack bar.

Release! The Healing Power of Forgiveness
 
Dr. Michael Barry will be presenting a free program at Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Grayslake, IL. This program is an invitation to begin a journey toward forgiveness, and it includes helpful hints, scientific research, and proven techniques for reducing anger and hatred. Beyond the science and therapy, however, is the belief that the simple act of prayer is an integral part to finding healing, peace and forgiveness.
 
Dr. Barry’s latest book, The Forgiveness Project: The Startling Discovery of How to Overcome Cancer, Find Health, and Achieve Peace, will be highlighted in the program. For more information on the Release! program go to www.releasenow.org.
